Latest Information Regarding the Restart

Friday Mar 26, 2021

We have just been informed this evening of some changes to the guidance around our return to playing hockey.

Practices, No Games
For the first 2 weeks we will be restricted to practice sessions only. Scrimmages in practice are permitted with coaches officiating. No referees, linespersons and/or scorekeepers are allowed to officiate the scrimmages.

Use of Non Medical Masks
Coaches must wear a non-medical face mask on ice during practice sessions, as well as on the bench when games are permitted in 2 weeks.

Parents Not Allowed in Rink
The new version of Arena Guidance released this afternoon states "Spectators must be limited to one parent/guardian only in instances where attendance is necessary to assist participants before or after sport activities." The rink has interpreted this to mean that only for sessions in the U7 and U9 division should parents accompany their child into the rink. If an U11 player needs help with their skates then the parent should leave the rink after providing assistance with the child's skates.

Hopefully as we progress through the next couple of weeks there will be more clarity on what is permitted and what cannot be done. We thank you for your patience.
